Project: Brickbest website

Brickbest is a proptech startup offering real-estate investment opportunities with high profitability potential. The website serves as the company’s first digital product, designed to communicate trust, transparency, and data clarity for investors looking for property-based returns.

As the UX/UI designer, I created the brand identity, user experience, and interface design system from scratch, working directly with the founders through their incubator program.

The problem

The opportunity

To support Brickbest’s value proposition –“real-estate investments with up to 7% profitability”– the interface needed to simplify financial information and make it accessible to non-expert investors.

However, I managed to identify three possible pressure points:

  • Early-stage startup with no previous visual or verbal assets
  • Early stakeholder alignment in startups can have overlaping roles and visions
  • Data-dense financial information (cost, ROI, profitability, and liquidity) will be displayed in a compact spaces.
The process

Balancing stakeholders, aligning vision under uncertainty, and translating business goals.

1. Research

The first phase focused on understanding the emerging real estate investment landscape, especially the rise of crowdfunding platforms that promised accessibility and high returns.

I conducted competitive benchmarking to identify how other proptech startups communicated trust, displayed complex financial data, and simplified investor journeys.

The research revealed a clear pattern: while most competitors emphasized numbers, few succeeded at making investment data feel understandable and transparent to first-time investor, which became a central insight for the project’s direction.

2. Define

With the market insights gathered, I defined the information architecture, content priorities, and core experience goals.

The main objective was to communicate trust and clarity through simplicity: each property’s key metrics, such as cost, profitability, liquidity, and ROI, had to be instantly readable and comparable at a glance.

  • Prioritize numerical data legibility
  • Limit distractions in navigation to maintain a linear, results-driven experience
  • Introduce subtle hierarchy through typography and color, not complex layouts

3. Ideation

Ideation began with a series of low- and mid-fidelity wireframes exploring how financial and visual information could coexist effectively.

During this phase, I initiated collaborative review sessions with multiple stakeholders –founders, early technical collaborators, marketing collaboratos– to ensure alignment on functionality, copy tone, and user flow.

  • Preventing misalignment between business expectations and design execution
  • Creating a sense of shared ownership in the design process
  • Accelerating decision-making by validating directions early

Through iterative feedback, we refined the structure into a simple, high-impact layout designed to highlight investment opportunities while building brand credibility.

A key technical consideration was typographic optimization, as the UI will display long numerical strings. Therefore, I planned to select a font with an extra condensed style specifically designed to handle financial data in limited spaces, balancing density and legibility without sacrificing readability.

The outcome

Product delivered!

The MVP website was successfully delivered, providing Brickbest with a professional, investor-ready presence aligned with their incubator’s launch milestones.

While I was not part of the post-launch feedback loop, the website served as the foundation for the startup’s funding and market presentation efforts, earning positive remarks from program mentors and internal stakeholders.
